On August 24, there will be a Back to School Bash and Food Truck Festival at Reed Park in Farmington, Illinois. This event will be hosted by M&K Parties, a locally owned business based out of Farmington that rents out and operates inflatables and other party fun!
From noon to 3, there will be bingo, live music by the Taproot Wranglers, lots of bouncy houses, train rides by M&K, mini golf, face painting, and a balloon artist. Additionally, there will be plenty of food trucks for you to choose from, such as Prohibition 309 Pizza, J Dubbs, Monari’s Chilli Dogs, Tropical Sno, Tony’s on Wheels, O’s Rolled Ice-Cream, What’s Shakin’, Terrie Kay’s Kettle Corn, and Top That.
The best part of this event is that all proceeds will go to supporting the Farmington Area Food Pantry! The price for train rides are canned food or cash donation to the local food pantry. The pantry is located at New Hope Fellowship Church at 1102 IL-78 Farmington, IL. Over the last month, they have served a total of 91 families, representing 236 people. Every third Wednesday of the month, the pantry opens from 11:30 to 1:30 and serves the residents of the Elmwood and Farmington school districts. No financial information is necessary to receive help, just come and pick up your food! For information or to make an appointment, contact Pastor Tom Wright at 309-231-8076.
Come support the Farmington Area Food Pantry this year at the Back to School Bash and Food Truck Festival. It is a wonderful demonstration of a community coming together to help those who need it, while creating an environment of family fun and small town celebration!
