Macomb Brings the Beats and the Eats to the 43rd Annual Heritage Days
By: Forgottonia Times™ Report
This month, Unforgettable Forgottonia will once again pulse with music, laughter, and celebration as Macomb hosts its 43rd Annual Heritage Days Festival. From June 26–29, this cherished four-day event brings a rich mix of tradition and entertainment to the streets of downtown Macomb — and it’s free to the public.
Heritage Days, which has been a fixture of summer in Macomb for more than four decades, celebrates the culture and spirit of the region. This year’s festivities officially begin Thursday at 4 p.m. with the opening of a carnival and performances by the Macomb Municipal Band and “Mississippi Dogfish,” whose high-energy rockabilly roots sound will kick off a weekend packed with music. Over the course of three nights, eight bands will perform a mix of genres, from Chicago soul and modern country to alternative rock.
Friday’s lineup features “The Imperial Sound” (6:15pm-7:30pm), followed by an Americana band, “Rachel Drew Band” (7:45pm-9:00pm) and “Tomar & the FCs” with a soulful R&B finale (9:15pm-10:30pm). On Saturday, “Sara Jean Stevens” takes the stage from 6:15pm-7:30pm, followed by the “Nathan Graham Band” (7:45pm-9:00pm) and a headlining performance by “The Melismatics” (9:15pm-10:30pm) featuring Ryan Smith of Soul Asylum.
In addition to live music, visitors can explore a craft and artisan fair, a classic car show, and a petting zoo. Saturday morning will feature the always-anticipated annual parade. A cooled beer tent and popular food trucks—including Bucher Boys, Cousins Maine Lobster, and AR Chimney Cakes—will serve up festival fare throughout the weekend.
With its nostalgic charm, free admission, and wide array of attractions, Macomb’s Heritage Days continues to be a highlight of the summer season, drawing families, friends, and visitors from across the region.
